The Pioneer
Deborah is distinctively known in three specific areas of her life: the courts as a successful tennis professional of 20 years, corporate in organizations like Merck and Ethicon Technologies as a sales professional, and 3rd as a spiritual leader reaching across all segments of her life. No matter who you might speak to in any area of her life, you will hear about the impact she made in their lives emotionally, spiritually, relationally and vocationally. Despite all her accomplishments and plans her life took an unanticipated turn when she became a caregiver to her mother. Deborah pushed pause on her entire life and all her dreams sold her home and land in North Carolina, and returned home to New Orleans. Her caregiving assignment ended with her mother's death October 8th, 2021.

While caring for her mother, Deborah completed her Master of Divinity specializing in spiritual formation. She completed a one-year Clinical Pastoral Residency and through a grueling competency process became part of the exclusive expertise as a Board Certified Chaplain with The Board of Professional Certified Chaplains. In 2024 she will have acquired her MA in Clinical Mental Health with Specialization in Counseling. In her expertise as a Chaplain she supports healthcare, government and community as an interdenominational spiritual clinician.
Deborah's expertise bridges the gap of lacking theological expertise in mental health and lacking mental health expertise in spiritual practice and theology. As a professional Chaplain completing Board Certification must be approved in over 30 competencies with documented hours of assessment, intervention and outcomes in more than 170 areas of expertise. Through Harobed, Deborah serves helpers who help others in the profession of counseling and in consulting bringing solution-focused expertise to industry leaders.
